The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is here and ready to change the electric vehicle game.
The Lightning is not only Ford’s first all electric truck, but is also introducing many new and exciting features that will certainly be seen in other Ford vehicles moving into the future.
In this third part of the three part blog series on the Ford Lightning, we will dive deeper into Comfort and Convenience features that make this new truck something to talk about.
There are many features that add comfort to all passengers, so let’s start by stepping into the driver’s seat:
The first feature that stands out is the Stow Away Shifter. With just the push of a button, you can stow the shifter to make space for the Interior Work Surface. This available work surface folds directly from the center console, creating a perfect on-the-go work space for you.
We all know that North Dakota’s weather can be inconsistent, so stay ahead of the cold, wind, or heat with heated and ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
Let’s dive into the technology features of the Ford Lightning that are convenient, and will give you peace of mind during all road trips:
With FordPass, the new Ford app, you can connect to your truck through your phone, and control different parts of your truck. You can also use your phone as a key!
The Ford Lightning also has the latest generation of SYNC. With Apple Carplay and Android Auto capabilities, as well as Connected Built-In Navigation, traffic and weather updates, 360 degree cameras, and cloud-based connectivity with voice recognition, the SYNC 4A with a 15.5-Inch Touchscreen makes driving easy, convenient, and safe.
One might argue the most exciting technology feature is the new Intelligent Range feature. Intelligent Range allows the Lightning to learn and adapt while you are driving. Intelligent Range factors in weather, traffic, grade, payload, towing weights, and even more, and remembers everything for the next time you run into the same factors, which leads to better and safer trips in the future.
Now let’s move to the back:
The Ford Lightning can hold up to 5 passengers, and has many more storage options than other Ford F-150s.
There are many convenient hooks, tie downs and cargo nets throughout the truck, to make sure your luggage or other travel items do not get lost under the seat, and have more room than ever before.
The rear seats easily flip up, revealing even more storage space, with dividers to easily keep your cargo organized and in place.
One more feature that is built in to give you comfort during all of your trips is the Ford Co-Pilot 360. We went into detail on each of the 12 exciting features in the first part of this 3-part series: “Design and Style.”
“The Ford Lightning is an exciting new vehicle we are excited to be able to offer to our customers,” says our New Car Manager, Mike Wishek. “It requires less maintenance and there are better warranties offered on it. The Lightning is the first of its kind, and is certainly changing the game for electric trucks moving into the future.”
