The new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning has struck down in Bismarck, ND!

There are many unique things about this all electric truck, including never before seen power. Want to learn more? Come along with us in part two of the three-part blog series about the 2022 Ford Lightning.

Ford F-150’s are known for their power and performance, and the Ford Lightning not only meets the standards, but exceeds them.

The all electric truck can tow up to 10,000 lbs, and has many helpful features that make towing easier than ever before.

Let’s breakdown the 4 most exciting towing features:

  • Pro Trailer Backup Assist - All you have to do is enter a few measurements of what you’re towing, rotate the knob the direction you want the trailer to go, and the camera will help guide the trailer! You also can have the system control the steering wheel, for a seamless back up.
  • Trailer Brake Controller - When you press your brake, it will automatically apply the trailer brakes. You can even adjust the power sent to the brakes.
  • Smart Hitch - this measures the tongue weight of the trailer when connecting, and can guide you through proper weight distribution.
  • Onboard Scales - You can load information about what you’re putting into the bed of your truck through the center touchscreen or the FordPass App, so you have peace of mind that what you’re carrying doesn't exceed the recommended weight capacity.

But that isn’t all the power the Lightning has in store… wait until you learn about what MORE you can do with the Ford Lightning’s battery.

Depending on the model, you can travel between 230 and 320 miles on one charge! And you can even charge at your home, and get a full charge in 8 to 10 hours with the Ford Charge Station Pro. There are also charging stations all over the country, and you can even plan your trip knowing where the chargers are

With the Ford Charge Station Pro, you can also power your house with the Intelligent Backup Power if the power goes out! For up to 3 days, you can power your home 24/7, or, if you ration the usage correctly, for up to even 10 days!

“The Ford Lightning makes for a perfect construction vehicle,” says our General Sales Manager, Corey Rennich. “With the 11 power outlets, and 9.6 KW of power, you can easily plug in your power tools.”

Power comes not just from the battery, but from the new frame design as well.

The state-of-the-art Lithium-Ion Battery Pack is the source that drives everything. With dual motors and a Fully Boxed High-Strength steel frame, the Lightning changes the expected performance of the F-150 into the future.

The Lightning also has the most torque of any F-150 ever, with 775 lb.-ft of nearly instant torque. Isn’t that a ton of power!

It also is the fastest accelerating F-150… you can go from 0 to 60 mph in about 4 seconds! WOW!

You also have 4 drive modes to choose from: Normal, Sport, Tow Haul, and Off-Road. These modes allow you to experience the best performance on every trip.

“The Ford Lightning offers new features and abilities not seen in other trucks in its class, and is changing the game of electric trucks,” says Josh Bitz, one of our sales consultants. “If you need a lot of power and better performance, the Lightning might be the right fit for you.”
