Meet our Body Shop Manager, Mark Schmidt!

The Eide Automotive Group prides itself on providing jobs that turn into careers for our employees. One great example of growth and leadership is our Body Shop Manager, Mark Schmidt!

Mark’s service career began in 1983, and then joined our Eide family in 1990 as an auto body technician. In 1993, he was promoted to Body Shop Manager, making this his 34th year with Eide Ford.

Growing up, Mark worked on automobiles; this sparked his interest in the automotive industry, and helped lead him into his current position!

As body shop manager, Mark is the first face you see when you walk into our shop. He provides excellent customer service, works with insurance companies, schedules all the different jobs, and works to improve work flow and production year to year. 

“I enjoy being able to work with our customers, especially the ones who continue to come in through the years, and the friendships that I have made because of that,” Mark says. “I also love the work environment we have created within our shop. I have been able to work with many of the technicians for years, and it has been a pleasure to get to know them.”

“It has been incredible to see the growth that the Eide Automotive Group has accomplished through the years. When I started, we only had one dealership. Now, we have 5, and I am grateful to have been a part of it.”

“I have seen so many changes in the industry during my 40+ years, and it has been great to be able to be a part of it and learn new things in order to better serve our customers.”

“One thing that I am immensely grateful for is the flexibility with my job. When my kids were growing up, I was able to be at all their sporting events. And now I am able to go visit them often. Family is extremely important to me, and I am thankful to be working for a company that puts family first as well.”

His favorite memories while working at Eide Ford are going to Las Vegas and Detroit for work, and touring the Henry Ford mansion. 

In his spare time, Mark enjoys golfing, working in my yard, and visiting his kids in Minnesota. 

“Mark is the longest tenured employee of the Eide organization, and he knows more about our Ford Body Shop than I will ever know,” says Ryan Else, Fixed Operations Director of the Eide Automotive Group. “He has immense knowledge of the industry, is extremely dependable, and will go out of his way to help our customers. I am extremely thankful for him and all he does for the Body Shop and our technicians, and for everything he has done to aid in the growth of our service department through the years.”
