This November, Eide Ford Lincoln in Bismarck is kicking off a two month Food Drive!
Through the end of December, stop by with goods or donations for Fargo-based Great Plains Food Bank to help fight hunger in North Dakota - and we'll match the contributions you bring to the table.
Hunger is a serious problem, whether we keep conscious of it or not. Each year, the Great Plains Food Bank is putting in the effort and resources to help as many as 1 in 9 North Dakotans in need of emergency food assistance.
To combat hunger in our communities, please bring donations or food items to us in Bismarck. We'll keep them on display in the showroom to continue raising awareness, then bring contributions to the only food bank in North Dakota - along with Eide's matching gift.
As you consider a donation, here are the types of goods Great Plains Food Bank is in need of

Unfortunately, a great amount of time and effort is wasted when people donate expired cans from the back of the cupboard. To help us send food that can actually benefit our fellow North Dakotans, here are some rules and recommendations Great Plains Food Bank asks that you follow:
Another way to join the fight against hunger is with cash. A monetary donation allows the Great Plains Food Bank to allocate resources in an optimal fashion to people all over the state.
According to the food bank, "Every dollar raised through your food drive enables the Great Plains Food Bank to recover and distribute $8.30 worth of food to children, seniors and working families in our community. Every $50 donation provides 200 meals to those who need it most."
Donations to the Great Plains Food Bank are tax-deductible, and you can get a gift receipt if you give us your name, address, and donated amout.
Once the donations are collected, we'll get them to the food bank along with our gift matching the value of donated food items and monetary contributions. The Great Plains Food Bank will then check food for safety before getting it sorted to find the tables of hungry North Dakota families who need our help.
Thank you for considering a donation, and please share this blog post so that we can tell even more people about the difference a few items or dollars can make in the fight against hunger.
