Eide Ford's January Employee of the Month: Mike Davis

Congrats to Mike Davis for being the Employee of the Month!

Providing an excellent experience for every customer is not a one man job, but it's great to have people on the team who are willing to help out wherever they're needed!

Exceptional employees such as these keep our customers happy and things running smoothly both behind the scenes and in front of customers! 

We're thrilled to have Mike Davis as one of our team members, and proud that he's the employee of the month for January!

Get to know more about Mike

Body Shop Manager, Mark Schmidt, says Mike was nominated because he's willing to pull more than his fair share of weight around the painting department. 

"We have two painters here and I had one painter go down because he broke his ankle. He was out the whole month of January." Marks says Mike really stepped up and took over, "we didn’t skip a beat, Mike got everything done. He even worked some nights and late hours."

Q: How long have you been at the dealership?
I am on year 21—just short of 22 years. I’ve been in the paint department since day one.
 
Q: What does a typical workday look like for you?
We’re split up into two different sections—the body department and paint department. Whenever a car is done getting repaired, we take it from there. We paint the vehicles and then get them ready to go get put back together.
 
I usually show up right around 8 o’clock, and get off around 5. Sometimes I get off a little earlier than 5 o'clock, depending on if I need to go pick up kids from practice.
 
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
The actual painting part of it. There’s other things that lead up to painting like sanding and masking. The actual painting in the paint booth is my favorite part, though. It’s something that is fantastic when it works right, but it’s very easy to have issues and problems and you have to deal with them on the spot. 
 
Q: What do you drive and what's your favorite vehicle to work on?
I have about eight vehicles. I personally drive about three different ones - my wife does too. 
 
My favorite one to work on would be the Ford Super Duty. The ease of working on them is my favorite part—taking it apart and putting them back together is pretty simple. 
 
Q: What do you do in your free time? 
Depends on the season! Summer is for camping and boating with family and friends. In the winter, I hang out with friends, do stuff with the kids like go to Sky Zone, that kind of stuff. Just stuff to stay warm! 
 
Q: Why is Eide Ford a great place to do business? 
As far as I’m concerned, we do an honest, quality job. When you get your car back, it’s going to be as good if not better than when it came here.
