Eide Ford's Employee of the Month: Ben Mayher

Ask sales consultant Ben Mayher about what makes North Dakota (and specifically Bismarck) a great place to live, and he’ll talk about how everybody is relaxed, down to earth, and looks out for each other.
As it happens, those are the exact qualities that Ben brings to the sales floor at Eide Ford. His easy nature, conviction to solving customer problems, and willingness to lend a hand made him our pick for July employee of the month.

Why North Dakota WON BEN OVER

Ben has been on the Eide Ford team for a little under a year and a half, but he's lived in Bismarck for the last 7 years.

Growing up, he moved between North Dakota and Nebraska, but he's been glad to settle in the Bismarck-Mandan area.

"It's more relaxed here, and there's not as many people," he said. "Plus the hunting and fishing here is excellent."

He thinks that regional mindset is on display in the Eide Ford showroom.

Like his teammates, "I just want to be as helpful as possible and help them make the right decision," he said.

Is there a trick to that? Not really, according to Ben - or if there is, it's an obvious one.

"When I deal with customers, I try to just be a normal person. I help them make the most informed decision with my product knowledge or anything I can offer."

He said that customer focus is clear throughout the team.

"With us, you not only get the best customer service during the sale, but after it. And during the sale we are completely transparent with the price and the whole process," he said. "That all gives you less to worry about, and makes it more enjoyable for car owners before and after the sale." 

According to general sales manager Casey Neumann, "Ben is an extremely hard worker. He truly cares about his customers, and we both want each and every customer experience to be the absolute best experience that a customer could ever have."


Q: What made July a stand-out month for you?

I just did everything I could to help the other guys out and give 100 percent to my customers. I sold about 22 cars, and I was helping other people out on another 5 or 6 sales.

Q: What do you like about working at Eide Ford?

Everything. There’s something new every day. It’s good to help out customers, to help them find the vehicles they want.

Q: What's the most important thing you can do for a customer?

Making sure they land on the right vehicle. There's a million different options and different vehicles out there, and I’m making sure that the one they pick will reach their needs.

Q: How do you spend your free time?

I love to hunt and fish. Otherwise I'm playing softball in the summers, golfing, or watching sports.

Q: How is the Eide Ford softball team doing this season?

We're getting a lot better than we were. (Ben plays first base.)

Q: Is there anyone you would like to thank for this award? 

Casey Neumann, our general sales manager. Pretty much the entire management staff, and my fellow employees. We always help each other out, and it makes things a heck of a lot easier.
