Eide Ford's Employee of the Month: Travis Dachendorf

Each month at Eide Ford, we select one team member as Employee of the Month. This is someone who goes out of their way to do something that not many others are willing to do, is always looking out for the entire team and all customers, and embodies the Eide Philosophy.
Travis Dachendorf is a service advisor, and he is our Employee of the Month for July 2018!
The Eide Philosophy in the Service Lane
One of the important pieces of the Eide Philosophy is to live by the motto of transparency.
Ryan Else, the Service and Parts Director at Eide Ford, says that Travis was nominated because he's willing to step up and do whatever it takes to get the job done well.
"He's just a great employee," Ryan says. "In 60 days, his department became number one in service time for Ford stores. I never have to worry about his departments at all."

How long have you been at Eide Ford?
A little over six years.
What's your favorite part of your job?
Interacting with different customers. Every day is a little bit of an adventure, and I see different customers on a daily basis — this job is definitely not mundane!
The people I work with are great, they are a really cool group of people and very understanding. When my wife was deployed overseas, my managers were very flexible and they've done a lot for me and my family. They really understand that family comes first.
What's your day-to-day look like at work?
I manage a couple different areas, and you never know what's going to happen!
In the express service, it can get really hectic! When I show up at 7:00, there is usually already a line in our service department. I write up tickets, deal with mechanics, and talk with customers.
In the recon department, we do inspections on used vehicles and get them ready to sell. That job used to be handled by four different service writers, but business is growing and there's so much volume that we needed a specific team, and I manage that team.
And in the lube rack, I work with a good group of mechanics who are really fun to work with.
How do you spend your free time?
We put in quite a few hours here, so most of my free time is on the weekends. We have a lake place so in the summer time we like to go there. That's what my weekends are for — going to the lake and spending time with my three boys. I love playing ball with them and jet skiing.
If we're not at the lake, I'm usually at one of their events, games, or practices. They are all involved in sports year-round so we get pretty busy!
