2024 Ford F-150 Hybrid: Performance & Handling

Posted at Fri, Apr 26, 2024 7:15 AM

The all new 2024 Ford F-150 Hybrid is now available at your local Ford dealership, Eide Ford!

These hybrid trucks are available in most trim levels, bringing more power to the F-150 in many ways.

In this first of three in this blog series, we will go through the Power, Performance and Handling of the 2024 Ford F-150 Hybrid Truck.

Unimaginable power

The F-150 Hybrid combines the forces from both gas and electric power in the 3.5L PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 Engine.

With best-in-class available payload rating of 2,445 lbs and 13,500 lbs of available towing capacity, as well as the class-leading 1,755 lbs payload, the F-150 Hybrid brings a new level of power to the Ford truck lineup.

Many people use their trucks for towing, and there are many features in the F-150 Hybrid that helps to make towing easier for everyone:

  • Pro Trailer Backup Assist - to use this feature, all you have to do is rotate the steering wheel the direction you want the trailer to go, and the Pro Trailer Backup Assist will move your truck into position for you.
  • Pro Trailer Hitch Assist - this button will automatically take over the process of attaching your trailer. It will steer, accelerate and brake for you as it guides your truck into place.
  • Dynamic Hitch Assist - this feature helps you to line up and attach your truck to your trailer. Put your truck and reverse, and the system will be your on-screen guide using lines to show which direction your truck will move to help perfectly attach your trailer.

The bed of the 2024 Ford F-150 Hybrid is also fully equipped to help make sure your travel plans go smoothly.

With the onboard scales, you will know how much is in the bed of your truck through the screen on your dashboard.

Adaptive Suspension monitors your suspension position, the vehicle's speed, different road conditions, steering, and vehicle loading, and will adjust the suspension damping for enhanced vehicle control, especially when you are towing or carrying heavy loads.

Electricity Wherever You Go

No matter if you are packing or unpacking your truck bed, it is easy to access because of the Pro Access Tailgate, which puts you 19 inches closer to the bed of the truck. It swings open like the truck door, but also folds down like a traditional tailgate.

With the F-150 Hybrid engine option comes electricity you can use on the go!

There are 3 outlets in the cab and the box of the truck: 2kW, 2.4kW, and 7.2kW outlets. You can monitor and track the wattage being used via the SYNC 4 screen, and the FordPass app.

The Pro Power Onboard electrical outlet, which is 7.2kW, is the highest available outlet, and class-exclusive. This exportable power gives your truck the ability to be used as a mobile generator!

Not only is the new 2024 Ford F-150 one of the most sought after trucks in its class, the hybrid option brings new exclusive features to elevate the driving experience.

No matter what terrain or weather conditions you may encounter, the F-150 Hybrid easily adapts with the 8 Selectable Drive Modes, to help you best navigate and adapt to what lies ahead:

  • Normal - this is the default mode, that is meant for ordinary road conditions.
  • Slippery - this mode is to be used when the roads are wet or icey. It controls throttle response to reduce over acceleration, and regulates shift points so you are confident when handling your vehicle.
  • Tow/Haul - this mode helps reduce the amount of upshifts and downshifts you will have to make when halting a trailer, no matter if you are in stop-and-go traffic or driving cross country.
  • Off-Roading - this mode locks in the 4WD system - which lowers the throttle response and holds the gears longer. The boosted torque allows for the wheel spin to maintain forward momentum.
  • Sport - in this mode, 4x4 auto is engaged for better on-road traction, while also holding the gears longer, and increasing throttle response and crisper shifts.
  • Eco - this mode monitors driving statistics and adjusts the engine and transmission performance accordingly.
  • Rock Crawl - this mode also locks into 4WD and holds lower gears longer to minimize shifting; the accelerator also dampens to ease throttle response.
  • Baja - this mode is used for high-speed off-roading. It optimizes the throttle control for better response and torque delivery, while also tuning the suspension for improved traction and stability control. It is to only be used on dry and hard surfaces.

“Driving this truck is always smooth and easy,” says Merlin Haugen, Sales Consultant at Eide Ford Mandan, and owner of an F-150 Hybrid. “All of the available features aid in the comfortability, power, and ease of each drive. You can even feel the power of the truck when you are towing something. Knowing that I can trust my truck no matter what the situation aids in peace of mind all the time!”

The 2024 Ford F-150 Hybrid’s power allows for excellent performance on all of your short trips or long adventures.
