We have already laid out some of the features that you can find in the new 2021 Ford F-150 in this post, but now let’s look at what sets the new 2021 Ford Raptor apart from the rest — new features, more power, and an upgraded look to capture it all.
This truck might have been inspired by desert racing when its design was first brought to life in 2009, but after twelve years of innovation and listening to drivers, this third-generation Ford Raptor is just as ready for our North Dakota roads as it is for the Sahara.
Some people might look at a Ford F-150 and a Ford Raptor and wonder if there are any major differences. What Ford wanted to make with the Raptor is a model made for a tougher crowd trekking tougher roads with design features inspired by fighter jets and military-grade build.
This truck can take on a little bit more than the standard Ford F-150. First, this truck comes with a 3.5 liter ecoboost engine that provides low-end torque. What this means for you is now both your max payload capacity and your max towing capacity are both increased by 200 pounds — that’s now up to 14,000 pounds!
Another feature of this truck that sets it apart is the 5-link rear suspension, which improves your travel and stability. With the Ford Raptor, you can clear 12-inch obstacles with your choice of 35 or 37-inch tires.
Clearly, this truck is made for the vigorous Bismarck driver who might need a little more power behind their work.
Wanting more control of your truck’s “roar”? The new Ford Raptor is built with a unique exhaust system that lets you choose how loud you want your truck to be. Quiet and Normal modes are available for driving in town, but if you’re needing to hear the power behind your truck, try Sport or Baja modes.
Does work sometimes run past the sun’s hours? This truck has an amazing 360 degree view made possible with built in lights. Find bender-to-bender headlights and even a fully lit bed perfect for those late night jobs.
As mentioned above, the exterior has been redesigned and rebuilt to make this truck as tough as possible. This 2021 model features steel front and rear bumpers, as well as specific features inspired by fighter jet designs — including the hood’s heat extractor and side vents.
Take this truck onto any type of ground without compromising control. In the Ford Raptor you will find the Terrain Management System, which combines all-wheel-drive with four-wheel-drive and includes seven different modes to improve steering control. Focus on steering those grounds while your new Ford Raptor handles the rest with Trail Control, similar to cruise control but for roads less traveled.
The new Ford Raptor isn’t the only update here either: the FordPass app has updated to now include truck-specific features. Any worries about your trailer you can check straight from your phone, such as trailer theft alert, trailer light monitoring, and zone lighting control. This is additional to all of the standard great features the FordPass app has, like showing fuel levels, tire pressure, and locking or unlocking your vehicle.
Some other features of this new truck also include:
Eide Ford is excited to bring this “o.g. Desert predator” to Bismarck for special order and show you a revamped take on the off-road experience. Show any road true aggression without compromising a smooth ride.
Here’s what our own Adam Griffith has to say about the upgrades to the new Ford Raptor:
"The Ford Raptor has a gritty and tough reputation in the off-road community. The new features of the Raptor bring this beast of a truck to a new level like no other. This is truly one of the best off-road trucks on the market and will continue to be for several years."
